George Gilbert conducts a multi-disciplinary practice that offers integrated advisory and litigation (dispute resolution) services for a wide variety of Clients, with a particular emphasis on both the private and public sector, where he serves in private corporations, government departments, regulatory institutions and Individuals. He has a particular interest in Commercial litigation including in Banking, Insurance, Manufacturing, and Intellectual Property, Pharmaceuticals, Public procurement law and electoral law. George Gilbert also appears frequently in the Superior Courts and Courts of similar status, as well as various Tribunals.
He bears a wealth of experience having worked at three Tier One Law Firms. George Gilbert’s eye for detail, analytical mind and critical thinking have secured numerous legal solutions in the following key areas: Dispute resolution, Corporate & Commercial law and Immigration Law. George Gilbert has and continues to render Legal advisory services to major players in the commercial disputes and has successfully represented these players both in Court and in arbitration. His experience and knowledge has nurtured strong and reliable networks necessary in commercial transactions.
In regards to Intellectual Property, George Gilbert has combined his complex expertise in both research Science and Law to advice on complex IP matters including biotechnological inventions, genetic resources, plant breeding rights and patents. He has also been involved in IP registration, filling and defending trademark opposition, reviewing, drafting and negotiating on IP and ICT based agreements. He also advises a number of pharmaceutical companies in Intellectual Property, both contentious and non-contentious
With respect to arbitration, George Gilbert has represented various private entities and private equity companies and in credit to his expertise, he has been successful in most of his advisory matters that he has been involved in. Such victories included securing payments for over USD 5,000,000 to a Client. He also advises a number of pharmaceutical companies in Intellectual Property, both contentious and non-contentious.
With respect to commercial cross border transactions, George Gilbert has advised a consortium of companies in Kenya, Uganda and Sudan in a complex joint venture water and energy projects in Uganda.
